Psychodynamic Therapy is a talking therapy rooted in the understanding that who we are today has been shaped by past experiences usually out of our conscious awareness.

 

Psychodynamic Therapy draws on over a century of research on subjects such as Attachment theory, Defence mechanisms, True and false self and Narcissistic wounding, to name a few. Through dialogue with a Psychodynamic therapist these concepts allow us to make sense of:

  • how we relate to others and to ourselves

  • the dominant feelings that have taken root in us

  • the symbolism of the stories we tell others, and ourselves, about ourselves

Psychodynamic Therapy can help you to:

​

  • gain insight into why difficulties exist and why they persist

  • understand and change habitual patterns of behaving

  • have a less debilitating relationship with BPD/anxiety/depression

  • develop self resilience and enable meaningful lasting change

Psychodynamic theories can also help you to understand and navigate relational and team dynamics in the workplace. My background is in Learning and Development in Finance.
