Psychodynamic Therapy

That of which we are not aware, owns us.”    James Hollis

Psychodynamic Therapy is a talking therapy rooted in the understanding that how we think, feel and behave has been shaped by past inter-generational and societal experiences.

Psychodynamic Therapy draws on over a century of research on concepts such as Attachment, Coping Mechanisms, Repression, Denial and Projection.

Through dialogue with a Psychodynamic Therapist these concepts allow us to make sense of :

  • how we relate to others and to ourselves

  • the meaning of the stories we tell others, and ourselves, about ourselves

  • certain feelings that seem to dominate us

Psychodynamic Therapy can help you to:

  • gain insight into why difficulties exist and why they persist

  • understand habitual patterns of behaving

  • have a less debilitating relationship with BPD/ADHD/anxiety/depression

  • develop self resilience and enable meaningful lasting change

My practice is inclusive, welcoming, and open to all identities and backgrounds.

Psychodynamic theories can also help you to understand and navigate relational and team dynamics in the workplace. I am a Senior Associate Member of APPCIOS (The Association of Psychodynamic Practice and Counselling in Organisational Settings). Please contact me to discuss your organisational requirements.
